microG suddenly failes basic Play integrity check

Hello,

I’ve been using eOS on the Google Pixel 4a (sunfish) on 3.5-a15-20260211-community for a few months now without any issue. A recent Login with Duo Mobile failed the Play integrity check. It was working fine two days ago. During this time, no update was made. Does anyone have experience with this change in behavior of microG? Any obvious mistakes I made or recommended fixes?

I found out that Play Integrity is a known quirk of the Pixel 4a. The sudden change in behavior might be Googles deprecation of SafteyNet.

from what I’ve read, only tethering a Google Account to microg makes for passing basic integrity (outside other tricks). Can you corrobate that?

as to Duolingo, have you seen this post?
