I’m using 2.8 /e/os on a Nothing Phone (1). With pleasure I might say. Looking at the battery consumption, I found that MicroG is responsible for almost 50% of the battery consumption! It’s not possible to set MicroG to the background in order to bring the consumption down (I think for good reasons), but is there a way to bring the powerconsumption of MicroG down?
Seems many users can find battery consumption not only unreasonably high but also battery use attributed to unlikely culprits after an update.
Use of third party app CacheCleaner seems often to resolve this situation.
Unfortunately it seems CacheCleaner currently struggles to perform on Android 14. You might try manual cache clear of all system apps featuring in your high consumption list
- Version 2.2.9 com.github.bmx666.appcachecleaner
sad but true… but “appcleaner”-function of SDmaidSE does the same thing (from what I perceive) and seems to work well enough with A14
(Do not forget to “include scan of system apps” (or the like) in settings of app)
Thank you all. I will try the app. Is there a way to send this problem to the development team?
You can always report an issue.
This “cache of some apps (and not always the same and for all) sometimes causes battery drain after update”-problem will probably be hard to hunt down for the (seemingly, from my observation) lack of systematics and reproduceability… but anyways worthwhile reporting.
