So I just created a new Gmail address and I want to enable 2FA, but whenever I try to set it up with screen lock (fingerprint), Google gives me an (unspecified) error, that it didn’t work and I try again later.
I believe this process uses microG (or App compatibility as I believe it’s called now).
Any idea what might be the issue?

I am not the best person to comment on that Rens as I hate google with a passion, but is there a chance you can use that blasphemous email account without 2FA?
I bet google don’t like microG and there may not be any way around it.
Some banking apps run through Shelter, maybe that would help?
Perhaps raise a ticket with Murena Suppport.
You could think to yourself that “hey this person might need to use a Google product against their wishes because it’s beyond their control”, instead of being a prick about it.
The issue is already fixed btw.

I do hear you sometimes your stuck with them but now is a better time then never to lose them with all the garbage they are trying to pull these days. I read in the Newyork Times about what they are doing with their search engine and AI and it’s not pretty.
Thanks. Yeah the whole reason for me to go with e/os was to start getting away from Google as much as possible. But at the same time I’ve got a lot of other personal stuff going in my life where it’s not the absolute top priority.
I need an account to watch YouTube though. I don’t use the account for anything else and I just deleted my original 20yo gmail address to go with a new one without my actual name.
I would just like to say, perfect is the enemy of good. And it especially doesn’t help when people start to act militant about it.
@Rens go to the F-Droid store (you can add from App Lounge or web) Install Newpipe and you can watch all the YouTube you like, there is also PipePipe and LibrePipe .
For your Linux or Windows PC/Laptop there is FreeTube. 
I tried them all. I don’t remember exactly why but the user experience just wasn’t it for me.
