I have recently ordered and received a Murena GS6 Pro and wanted to use the backup & restore feature as documented here: Backup and Restore | /e/OS documentation
The issue is on the source device (Murena Two), upgraded to 4.2 (latest version), I do not see any “backup” application. I have another Murena Two (mine) and I cannot see the app either.
Does anyone know if this documentation above is only for certain phones and not Murena Two? Or ifs it for a future feature?
Also, I need to move my wife’s phone as its USB C port is dying. If the Backup option from above documentation is not available, what alternative do I have? I would appreciate feedback from this community and lessons learnt.
I am uncertain exactly in which Android version the original Seedvault Backup became available but think perhaps it was missing in some Android 13 (T) builds.
on both Murena Two running AOSP13 we do have a backup setting in the “settings” application by seedvault but I wanted to do it with my murena.io account for simpler restore. The backup app looks different compared to this documentation. That’s why I was asking if this is something maybe only available on some phone models or if 4.3-t would bring that on Murena Two.
I feel like 4.3 will be released soon so I might just wait if that’s simpler user experience, if anyone has information, that would be nice to share!
it would be good to mention this in the documentation
I have had issues with the USB storage as I did not have any good ways to convert USB C to USB A so I am running the backup locally now using seedvault, will copy it to a computer, then onto the new phone and cross fingers for that to work.
update: seedvault backup successful from my Murena Two running AOSP13 but from GS6 which does not have seedvault, I cannot restore. So I am following this documentation: Backup and Restore | /e/OS documentation
