Migration process FP5 (fpos) to FP6 (e/os/)

Hi! A friend of mine has a FP5 with stock fpos on. Hir recently bought a new FP6 with e/os/ preinstalled. The tricky think now is how to migrate everything from the old phone to the new one, that meaning, preferably, not just the data but the apps as well. The ideal would be something like when you have an iPhone or a Pixel and decide to get a newer version of the same brand. Is there any process that can do this, and if not, what comes closest?

Many thanks!

Unfortunately the documentation does not cover this: Migrate to /e/OS.

You might try seedvault to migrate apps and their data but I mus admit that I haven’t done this succesfully myself yet.

The good news is that you have two phones so you can start over if it doesn’t do what you expected.

The Android equivalent of the iPhone method is proprietary and not available in AOSP. One needs to move away from the idea that “everything moves over” automagically. As the above linked migration Support topics page I suggest one has to try to work through essentials first. Some apps do contain “Export settings” I suggest to look carefully at the app support page for these if in difficulties.

Ok, thanks a lot for the input!
