MMSes not sent or received, but I do get a Messenger verification code from Google

Hello everyone! I’m a new /e/OS user and I have transferred my mobile coverage from AT&T to Murena as well. I am using a Fairphone 4.

As the title says, I am having issues with texts sent to multiple recipients. I do not see their messages and mine do not send either. Whenever I do send one, however, I get a text message from Google providing a “Messenger verification code.” This is regardless of using the Messenger app or not and there is nothing prompting me for this code.

Solutions I have tried:

  1. Turning off mobile data and using “MMS messages - Send & receive when mobile data is off.”
  2. Turning Private DNS to Off, Quad9, and Automatic. None of these seemed to work.
  3. Trying different apps: the default /e/OS text app, Textra, even Google Messages (in the hopes I could use that Google code if it’s supposed to pop up there.)

Any thoughts on what I should try next? Thank you for your time and help!

MMS messages require a particular setting in Access Point Names (APN) apn

Maybe this could have a similar fix as T-Mobile / Murena Mobile connection w/ no Internet: FP4 - #5 by Shenol.

Thanks! That worked! I created an APN with the name “wholesale” and added “http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc” as the MMSC. That allowed me to send and receive multiple recipient texts as well as access the data plan.
