On my phone, now with /e/OS/, under the System menu there is an option for “Mobile Device Management” I was decided to explore. When I went in, two things of note presented:

-1) A mostly black screen with a text field and prompt to do something at mdm.murena.com, but there was no response from that URL no matter what browser or what server I used?

-2) Once I realized it was useless to remain there, I then was not allowed to back out of it back to System menu area, and had to use the “go to home screen” navigation control at bottom.

So what’s this “feature” about? What does it do for the phone or user?

pretty much what it says on the tin - “fleet management”, as in managing company devices.

Android has generic in-built functions for mdm software that aren’t tied to Google, that is this button. You limit the Apps that can be installed, install certificates, use remote reset etc.

It’s possible Murena looked into this, but that domain isn’t publicly advertised yet.
