These are the steps where I got stuck for a bit:

adb and fastboot commands:
I had to find out that I need to use sudo for most commands (e.g. sudo ./fastboot oem get_unlock_data -
a link to LineageOS Downloads would help a lot. It took me a while to find the right page

factory reset:
during Format data/factory reset, there was an error message on my phone:
ERROR: recovery: Read state file failed. No such file or directory
ERROR: recovery: Open failed: metadata / ota: No such file or directory
A quick internet search confirmed that this error message can be ignored.
