System booted fine with clean installation. After eos assistant i couldn’t start any app and the UI froze immediately

I come from a /e/OS 1.17-q.
is it better to first do an install of the e-1.17-s-20231202-CUSTOM-harpia.zip or e-1.18-s-20231230-UNOFFICIAL-harpia.zip or e-1.18-r-20231228-UNOFFICIAL-harpia.zip ?
