hello, the install doc for albus mentions the R-based build, but the latest build available seems to be the O-based one, although there are R-based builds for LineageOS for albus

Hello, the albus is with complications of Lineage 18.1, and had another 3 rom officially maintained based on R
Today we only have Lineage18.1
Lineage dropped Albus and other devices with kernel versions <4.4;
thanks to E/OS Albus has a path forward but realistically a updated kernel with some patches like a better qdisc like cake or fq_codel fq_pie and so on… would be my suggestion!
there are some possible 4.9 sources for msm8953, i will try to parse some repos into useful .
Of course it would be nice if there was a general kernel topic ( builds ,sources, patches) on eOS where each SoC + devices are organized.

You are right about organisation of those topics. We are invited to: Help us build /e/OS better. Collaborate in the documentation and this is the list of existing Tags. Already exist build-issues, build-feedback and new tags can be added, if you start a “New topic”, maybe not as a very new contributor [1], one can add an “invented” tag like #kernel … one just starts typing …
