Motorola XT1965-T

I have two new XT1965-T. The first I tried flashing /e/ on, and hard bricked the phone. With Blank Flash I was able to get back to fast boot, but was unable to use a TWRP backup from my other (unused) phone, so I downloaded a “Stock” rom. The stock rom started to boot, but would not complete. BUT I was then able to install /e/ using the mandatory " copy-partitions-20200903_1329.zip" step. Unfortunately, while /e/ comes up, and most apps work, the phone app does not.
My guess is that when I flashed the “Stock” rom, I messed up something on the phone software on the phone itself. How can I make a stock ROM from my unused XT1965-T so I know there is no regional problems? Thanks.
