Murena Voice to Text for paying workspace users...devastating

at least on my current setup / test. I tried it some month ago (older version on a smartphone, some improvement were claimend on gitlab for later versions) and the results were good / ok but the user experience using / setup / UI were so bad that I decided that I can’t put this imposition to someone who is not a nerd ;- )

Today I tested the lasted and the greatest on a Samsung A7 T-500 tablet, e-3.7.3-a16-20260507618654-community-gta4lwifi

and it was a real desaster. Murena Services seems running fine according to their status page but speed and accuracy of detection were abysmal to none existent.

I checked the microfone with the recorder app and it was ok / good.

Someone using this feature and can share some experience? I tried german, english, no difference.

Wanted to check my internet connection, but vodafone gave me a nope. They also seems to to have IMAP problems for their mail accounts since about a week….

…but that is probably because I am not using their DNS-Servers.

Addendum: Speedtest from another provider was good…, Private DNS configured under Settings > Network & internet setting set to Off

Does the T-500 have a SIM, you can send texts from the T-500? I have that one too, will look at it tonight see if I can send texts from it.

Tried it additionally on a FP4 official v3.7.3, same mess. This feature was unusable on different days, different devices and different networks.

The good news is that it seems at least no one else is trying to use it, because I am the only one complaining. Or it’s working for all others but me ;- )

You’re right, the behavior of voice to text feature is far from good.

which is expected to appear as a Settings > AOSP keyboard > On-screen keyboard > Input method for those with a paid murena.io subscription but coming soon

I have tried for two distinct sessions, one month apart, to create an account in Gitlab with at least 20 different e-mail adresses but Gitlab hates all of them.

So I can’t.

This happens to all; the link quoted includes a paragraph entitled “Getting an error …”

Please check the link which advises to subscribe to murena.io and use the email address derived from that subscription.

• This error occurs because we limit email domains for registration to prevent fake accounts from overwhelming our servers.

Before it completely stopped working it was like this: Not usable

In the light of version 4.0 of eOS Murena seems to manage it to have screwed it up to another level without warning or even informing the users.

Also bad for users who can’t update to v4.0 for oflline voice recognition but paid for this service.

This reminds me how cloud service was screwed up for….days? , weeks?, month? or was it years?

We expect it to be ready for release with v4.2 in August
