I don’t find any search function in the default music app. Is there any chance to add that?
uh yes I miss it too. It got removed and has to be reimplemented, see Music default App is missing a search function (#3816) · Issues · e / Backlog · GitLab
I’d say it needs one, and also needs to implement a few features in the Lineage music app but not present in the /e/ one (proper track tag sorting, gapless playback, etc)
Still not implemented. What is the reason for this?
The reason for this is just limited development capacity and the existence of many more serious development tasks than this cloned Music app. It has even many more limits, especially the not existing handling of folders, which makes it unusable.
If you need more than the stock app it’s easy to install any other player. - My choice is FoldPlay (from App Lounge) because of it’s clear and unbloated UI. foobar2000 and vlc are also good.
search is back in Music (Twelve) >= Android 15 - Music default App is missing a search function (#3816) · Issues · e / Backlog · GitLab
you can also install Twelve if you’re below A15 from sebaubuntu - Twelve, music app, compatible with Murena OS? - #7 by tcecyk
.. especially the not existing handling of folders, which makes it unusable.
despite search being back, no folder support is indeed a great minus, I’m still on “Vanilla Music”
