New motorola models compatibility

Hello,
I am wondering to buy one of the latest Motorola models, Moto edge 50 neo, which has 12GB ram memory and 512GB storage. My question is: would I be able to get /e/ OS up and running on that device? Would it be a straight way to install it?
I know there is a list of compatible phones at murena.io, but newer models are not listed. I would like to have /e/ OS in a powerful device.
Kind regards.

If it’s not in the list it’s not supported; /e/os support list

LineageOS supports new phones quicker than /e/os and since /e/os is forked from LineageOS, if you see a new phone in their support list you’ll probably see it in the /e/os list within a few months; LineageOS support list

It takes some time for new phones to be supported and not all variants of a model either. Looks like the Edge 50 Neo released 8/2024 so it might appear in the LineageOS support list in a few months, then another few months to see it in the /e/os support list.

If you’re in a hurry to run /e/os, you might want to go with the Edge 40 Pro (model XT2301-4) and not the Edge 50 Neo. The model number shown in the list is important. Not all variants are supported.

Two more options :

  • have a search on XDAforums, you could find Unofficial LineageOS build, if so, ask @ ronnz98 to make an Unofficial /e/OS build.
  • have a try with GSI, if your device support android 14 MotorolaOS, it may support Unofficial /e/OS GSI.
