'New user' status in forum

What’s the definition of a ‘new user’ in the forum?

I’ve just tried to post a reply under v1.7 feedback and a pop-up informed me that new users are limited to 3 replies under rhe same topic.

It is a bit strange as according to your profile you are not a new user and recently have posted more than 5 post in the “Feedback for v1.4” topic

Thanks, that’s what I’d thought.
Anyway, seems I"ve now been granted basic user status and now working OK.
