This doesn’t work for you? I’m deleting mails all the time from the notification, running 1.9-s-20230311268558-dev-FP3.
Edit: Please check your setting in Mail App - Menu - Settings - General Settings - Notifications - Show ‘Delete’ button.
I have this setting on “Always” … New mail notifications have a “Delete” button for me, with a confirmation prompt afterwards.
