No GPS, no location?

During the past days I was traveling and my eOS smartphone was my wonderful travel assistant. However when riding the train I often had the situation that the phone was not able to localize me. It only worked when I had GPS. But from my understanding it should have been at least been able to approximately localize me.Based on my simple understanding, beaconDB as background data Should have been at least been able to give an approximate location of me. I checked while traveling if the area is covered using NeoStumler which indicated that the area is definitely covered.

None of the apps was able to properly localize me. These included the Maps application by eOS, but also OSMand.

Is there something that I have missed in the settings?

This was on a Samsung Galaxy S10+ running eOS 3.0.4.

See the thread we had three days ago. OK, it’s FP3 but maybe related to your problem.

Thanks, I missed this. I will have a look.

I noticed that one entry “Use assisted GPS” was not activated. At the moment I have no scenario to test if this was the cause.
