I’ve installed version 3.7.1 A16 (community) on a Google Pixel 6a. It went very smoothly, except that there are no notification sounds at all. Sound works in general: phone rings when there’s an incoming call, alarm clock sound is OK, etc.
Notifications also work: whatsapp calls and messages, text message, etc all show notifications. I also get an incoming call screen for video calls (e.g. on Whatsapp, Nextcloud Talk), but no ringing sound.
The problem doesn’t seem to be with specific apps: when I try to change the default notification sound or notification volume in the settings, there’s no sound either. So it looks like there’s a more fundamental problem.
Finally, I was hoping that updating to 3.7.3 would solve the problem, but sadly no.
Any ideas?
Don’t ask me how, but it looks like I solved the problem myself. I activated developer options on the phone to troubleshoot it. Had a look at the logs with adb but nothing stood out. Then I decided to send a message from another phone to see what would turn up in the logs and heigh-ho notification sounds were back! Fingers crossed they won’t disappear again…

Hi! I’m experiencing the same issue on my Teracube. I recently finished setting it up and updated to the latest version, but I noticed that none of the notification sounds were working. I can’t even sample them from Settings, nothing plays when I try. (Similarly to the above, my ringtones, alarms, etc. all work fine, and I get silent notifications from all my apps). I’m not certain if there’s a developer mode like for the pixel on my device, but I’ll look into resetting notification settings in some way. If anyone has any ideas, I’d love to hear them, thanks!
EDIT (literally 5 minutes later): I found this thread and the users there spoke about a headphone situation, so I tried putting my headphones in and I heard the sounds! And then I unplugged them and the sounds played through the speakers! So who can say for sure, but I’ll keep going from there.
