Every so often, the phone service stops working, I cannot make calls and I am unreachable until I restart the device. This is a big problem because I want to remain reachable for my elderly parents. How can I solve this? I use an FF6 and e/os/ 3.3-a15.
maybe the service that talks to the modem crashes permanently. Is this a unit bought directly through murena? → helpdesk. If you flashed it yourself and can capture an adb logcat I’d have a look
The phone was bought at the official online fairphone store with /e/OS pre-installed …
Update: It seems to happen every time I have been on a location with no/bad reception for multiple hours. After going back to places where there is good service, I need to restart to restore my service …
This is still not fixed in version 3.5 …
This is the documentation page Capture a debug information from /e/OS showing two different methods to collect a logcat as you had an offer.
Did you ever talk to your carrier about this? If your phone is disconnecting they should be aware. At a minimum you could ask for an APN reset. Hashtag apn for threads on the subject. Please just read two threads from 2026. No good if they are taking your money for no service.
Under conditions where you feel you need to restart perhaps just try switch to Aeroplane mode and back. Does this do the same job as restart or not?
