No SMS text notifications...?

Hi Folks,

Running self-installed Pixel 5 with /e/os 3.3

I’m getting no SMS notifications; looked over a few threads over a year old now - anyone with any ideas what’s broke?

No notifications at all or just no beeps?

Look for default SMS notifications in the app.

Messages app > top left menu > Settings > Notifications > Notifications, tap to customise.

No beeps - actually rings, my default sound (soz, not enough detail)

I made a case for /e/ 2.2 1.5 years ago.

I had the situation (and have it still) that the notification sounds (all except the telephone ring tone) were suddenly quite after some days of uptime. Sometimes you get three weeks and then it happens, sometimes you have it after five days.

The final statement in this case was:

  • we have a lot of topics awaiting for us

we will prioritize other topics over this one :wink:

And since then (exactly a year ago) it is as it is.

A reboot seems to be the only reliable workaround until now.
