No sync for existing contacts imported from sim-card

I imported contacts from my sim card to my FP3 with freshly installed /e/. Afterwards I created an ecloud-Account and tried to sync these contacts, but without success. Every new created contact syncs perfectly (but only if i choose “/e/cloud” in “Default account for new contacts” in contact settings, and not “Device”), but the old ones stay on phone and don’t go to the cloud.

Does anyone know to help?

When you imported the contacts from the SIM card, they will have been imported as Local contacts (i.e. they are only on the device and not synched to your /e/ account. Now you have configured your /e/ account, then try importing them again to your /e/ account address book. If that succeeds, then once they new contacts have synched, you can delete the local contacts by clearing storage for the ‘Contacts Storage’ system app (Settings | Apps and notifications | Show system)
