No WiFi with /e/os 2.8 T avicii on OnePlus Nord

Because the official ‘avicii’ build for the OnePlus Nord is end of support, I installed the community avicii version of /e/os 2.8 T (e-2.8-t-20250225471522-community-avicii.zip).

But I can’t get my WiFi working. I’m not sure where the problem is or if I can fix it or if it’s a problem with the avicii community image. However, if I search for Wifi networks there are none available. It also shows the Wifi MAC address as ‘not available’.

I didn’t have these problems with the official now unsupported build. Is there anybody else with this problem or knows a solution?

Thanks for your help,
fab

I have the avicii myself, but I’m on official and considering going for the dev release.

Did you solve this?

Yes, I ordered a Pixel 8a and flashed GrapheneOS on it.

I wanted to use the OnePlus for some more years to come, but here we are. It’s a pefectliy fine OnePlus Nord with /e/os community edition but with no wifi.

With the 8a I have a little over 5 years of support yet. I wish they make longer lasting devices.

PS: I’m not sure if it was my stupidity or if the community edition doesn’t support it. Maybe you have more luck.

Did you do a dirty or a clean flash?

I first flashed the recovery tool from the community edition, booted into it, wiped all data and flashed the ROM with adb.

I’m not sure what dirty vs. clean means. I just followed the instructions.

That’s a clean flash. A dirty flash is when you don’t wipe the data.

Have you tried System > Reset options > Reset Wi-Fi ?

Yes, I have. And it still says that theres no MAC address for the WiFi available.

I think it’s broken.

In About phone does “Device Wi-Fi MAC address” appear.

Any possible complication from MAC randomisation? If on can you try toggle off?

You can use Search facility in Settings to search MAC.

MAC randomization was off, but I had no MAC anyway. I turned it on to see if I could get one, no luck.

Do you know if the device was running the latest firmware/latest Oneplus update before installing /e/OS in the past?

I just want to inform that I have done a quick test of the Avicii with /e/OS 2.8 T community. I tried a dirty flash first, but this didn’t work. I recommend a backup and the instructions of wiping the device before flashing.

I have tested SMS, calling, camera, WiFi and 5G and everything works well.

I already thought that it was my fault and not a problem with /e/os community editition. I think my Wifi module in my OnePlus Nord is simply broken. Because of that I bought a new phone as said in a post above.

So there’s no problem with /e/os community edition.

No problem. I was in doubt myself, since the avicii is on the community rom and not the official anymore. I just wanted to share, in case others are wondering to switch from official to community.

Erm, Oneplus Nord Avicii - #2 by Manoj

I know. I flashed T so I could test Android Auto :+1:
