Not receiving notifications on time

Greetings,

I have an Asus Zenfone 8 on which I’ve been running /e/ os for the past 2 years, I used to have version 1.17 installed (when I stopped receiving OTA updates), and found out I needed to update manually in order to get OTAs back.

Two months ago I went ahead and formatted my phone and installed /e/ os version 2.5, and everything has been working great, with the exception of some notifications not showing on time in apps like Slack and Whatsapp, even though they are marked as “Unrestricted” in battery usage.

At a random time, I will start getting hundreds of slack notifications within a few seconds, even if I received all those messages hours ago.

I appreciate /e/ os, and would love to get some help on this topic.

Thanks!

Maybe you missed, the popup for cloud messaging. Can you check in the settings of micorg?

Hi @mihi ,

I found the apps in the microg settings configured for cloud messaging, with app registration enabled and also the “Start app on push message” is also enabled for all registered apps.

I’m attaching a relevant screenshot.

I see there’s an OTA update for /e/ 2.6.3, so I’ll try updating and see if that makes a difference, will post back here with my findings.

I see, then the configuration is correct. i would suggest re-installing next, just not sure it will help.

Posting back after updating to 2.6.3. The issue still happens where notifications clump together and just appear at a random time, specially for Slack.

I noticed restarting the device temporarily fixes the issue (not sure for how long), but then eventually the same problem happens.
