Notes app account issue in /e/os 3.2

Anyone else having issues accessing their remote notes after the update?

I open the notes app it asks to select account; use local notes or choose Murena account. After I select Murena account it doesn’t work.

On fairphone 6. My notes are all their on the site.

thanks I already tried this, it was checked already for me. I tried un-checking and re-checking again. Still can’t sync/connect to murena account in notes app on phone

I managed to resolve this, I assume it’s to do with 2FA.

Steps to resolve:
Sign out of Murena account from e/os settings > Accounts.
Sign back in to Murena account
Create an application password
Sign in to notes using application password

Thanks for your solution, I have the same issues but I can’t seem to find how to use an application password in the notes app, it only offer me to use an existing account or to use local notes.
And when I choose an existing account the progress bar appear for a few seconds before the screen comes back to the choice between an existing account et local notes.

Ran into the same issue. I can select the account but nothing happens afterwards. Returns to select account page.

So since the update to /e/os v3.3 I can no longer get it working either. The issue you describe of selecting account and then the progress bar appears briefly and back was the same issue as /e/os v3.2. However the auth flow seems to be different from what I remember.

I tried logging out again and logging first into notes app, I can no longer use application password for notes, the auth window won’t accept it. I can log in with username and password but this doesn’t seem to work on the notes.

BTW I resolved my issue and ensured my account refers to @murena.io (instead of @e.email).

Same issue on Xiaomi Mi9SE on 3.4. First appeared on 3.3.
I tried the suggetions in the thread without succes, including the application password suggestion.

Please advise.

On /e/os v3.4 I have notes syncing again, steps to get it working using application password.

Steps I did:

  1. Signed out of Murena account from e/os settings > Accounts.
  2. Create an application password
  3. Sign in to notes using application password
    1. I selected “select server” and entered https://murena.io
    2. Entered username and application password
  4. This should sign you back in to your Murena account on your phone too.

Afterwards I did get an error from the Mail application saying this couldn’t sync Mail, this is not an issue for me as I use Thunderbird client anyway and my mail comes there but this could be an issue for others.

Everything else seems to be working right now; tasks, notes, calendar etc.

Thanks for the tip, I tried it but I haven’t got the possibility to select a server, only to add a murena or nextcloud account, did I miss anything ? :confused:

Just followed the steps above to check it’s correct and it worked, I this screen below when I add account on the notes app.

Thanks, I was reading too fast and skipped the “signed out” step but now the app is just loading infinitely :sob:
