"Notes"-app needs account and login? Alternative that works locally and offline?

Hello,
I just got my Fairphone 5 with eOS from Murena. I tried the notes app but it wants me to log in with a Murena ID. Is there a way to use the app just without login locally on the phone? Or is there an alternative app that would just take notes without any extras?

Hello,
if you just want local notes on your phone: There are several open source notes apps without any trackers, I am using “privacyfriendlynotes” from F-Droid Store which works for me.

Thanks!
I will give that a try!

There is a gitlab issue (raised 4 years ago but still not fixed) about this.

What you want to do - use Notes without a cloud account - was implemented in the NextCloud Notes app (from which the /e/ app is forked), so you could just use that. I believe that when you first run the NextCloud app, you will be prompted to create an account, and you can choose to create a local (i.e. on-device only) acount instead of a cloud account
