This week I installed /e/OS on my Fairphone 6. After installing /e/OS I installed all the Android apps I’m running on my old Android Smartphone. All apps are running well except: NPO start
You can start NPO Start, but you can’t view tv programs in NPO start. When you try to open a TV program you get the follwowing message (in Dutch): Foutcode 1001. Er is een onbekende fout opgetreden. Als het probleem zich blijft voordoen, neem dan contact op met de klantenservice.
Spontaneous speculation: As it seems to be a TV network app, it might want to make sure you are viewing from within their broadcasting area (geoblocking), e.g. by your IP or MAC address (the MAC is not a hint of your location, but in Wi-Fi settings you can either show your actual MAC (“static”) or keep changing it) or some other identifier). You might want to check your Wi-Fi settings.
I also don’t have problems with viewing television programs with de NLZiet apps. I installed NPO in App Lounge and in Aurora Store. Did you make specific settings in your /e/OS configuration? I did not give NPO my real geo location.
Thank you for your reply.
I’m using my real IP address.
On my old phone with Google Android I can view television programs. The old phone is using the same Wifi connection.
Thank you for your replies. I’m living in the Netherlands, so I don’t need a VPN connection to use NPO start. Viewing live tv programs and playback don’t work. They have the same failure code. On which device are you running /e/OS? I’m running it on a Fairphone 6. The bootloader is not locked because I’m waiting for the /e/OS version with the same of later date than the latest Android version that was installed on my Fairphone.
After installing /e/OS 3.1.2 and a factory reset (for locking the bootloader) de NPO app is running well. Thank you for your replies. This topic can be closed.
