@mihi @Jets Quick question. My new Pixel 4a 5G should arrive today.

Should the SIM card of current phone be placed in the new phone before or after loading the e.foundation s/w.

Thanks,
Nick

I would leave it out.

But first do this: insert SIM to phone and test that the stock ROM is working correct that you can make calls, send texts, test WiFi calling (if you provider supports), is 5G working (if you provider supports) and so on.

Once phone is tested you could leave SIM in or remove it. I think in most cases I have it out and once eOS boots up I follow the onscreen steps. I strongly recommend making an eOS account if you don’t already have.

I am at work so may or may not respond to post throughout the day.

@Jets @mihi Loaded via command line method.

All good.

Does the the Murena account aid in transferring phone apps, contacts, etc to new phone?

I think I saw something on the web (murena.io), not sure about it what it can do

I did it years ago. I think I used my smartphone contacts and anything else I did manually.

jazz,

Yes it (can) backup some aspects of the phone. Easiest way to see is login to the account through the web interface here: https://murena.io/login

You will then see what data is stored to the free 1GB cloud.

I see mihi post now. Great minds think alike

Maybe best is to use the HowTo :grin:.

@mihi @Jets Thank you both so much for all the help. I’ve now migrated everything over to the new phone. Really nice phone. Should last awhile.

Have a great weekend!
