On the cmf phone is these not so.
The build number is accessible over the image.
Hello,
I have successfully installed e os on my CMF phone 1. I wanted to list all the bugs found in your gitlab but none of my emails are accepted. Also, the Murena account doesnāt seem to be available for registration. I donāt know if you have any idea how I can submit bugs.
These bugs range from the buggy alarm, to usb-c wired headphones that make no sound even though theyāve been detected, to photos that canāt be deleted in the gallery app.
Thank you for all your hard work.
Iāve just had the same error running flash_tetris_factory.sh
Have you discovered the reason for the error yet?
No, no one has mentioned the problem before you , Iām wondering which country they are all inā¦Iām in usa
In the UK here. Still missing our EU citizenship.
im an expat been in usa 25 yrs now
Checking the product ID
The 'getvar product" command, as you would think, just displays the product name. The point of using it is because, like most other fastboot commands, it waits for a handshake from the device before executing, but doesnāt do any actual manipulation. The stock bootloader listens for such commands during the first few seconds of the boot process. As soon as one is detected, fastboot mode is then enabled.
Your problem could be an undercharged battery. If necessary, you could deactivate (comment out) the check whether the CMF1 is connected in the installation script.
Just got e/OS installed on a CMF Phone 1 after receiving the error you posted about. While I canāt say what specifically got it to run, I can say there was no need to edit or comment out the āPRODUCT_IDā
What I noticed is when the phone was re-booted into Fastboot I was presented with two different screens on the phone depending on how I re-booted. Strange.
One of the Fastboot screens has the usual text menu with a number of different options at the top left of the screen. The usual volume controls to scroll through the options and power button to select it. I would have this Fastboot screen displayed when re-booting into Fastboot in these cases:
- Using the volume increase and power buttons simultaneously
adb reboot fastboot
fastboot reboot
adb reboot bootloader
Note that in the above Fastboot could see the phone.
The other Fastboot screen displayed on the phone looked much like the normal screen displayed when turning on or rebooting the phone.
It had the Noting word/logo, an Android logo at the bottom. However in small, grey text was the word āfastbootā in the bottom, left hand corner of the screen. With this screen displayed the install script ran flawlessly.
Looking back at the commands & re-booting hereās the commands used to get to that style fastboot screen:
- adb reboot bootloader
- fastboot reboot
- fastboot reboot fastboot
- fastboot devices
After those four commands, the install script properly flashed the release candidate e/OS for the CMF Phone 1.
Hope it works for you as well.
thanks for the info, will take a look
Hi,
I install the alpha from 5 days.
My yubikey serie 5 donāt OK with my 2FA account.
The GPS not localize correctly.
Bluetooth donāt connect to nothing buds .
Have a good day.
I would like to know if there will be both community and official builds. Iām still waiting for the official one.
Currently, Nothing OS 3.0 based on Android 15 is available. Is it ok to upgrade to this version before moving to /e/OS?
NO ! or only if you are sure to be abble to downgrade (if there is no anti-roll-back feature implemented) !
why are you waiting for the Official version, it is the same just with 1 or 2 month of late.
Because I intend to use this phone as daily driver and I donāt want to be part of the testing community in this case.
I canāt find where to disable auto update to Nothing OS 3.0. It writes me that it will be installed automatically while nobody using the phone.
Is it hard to switch from the community to the official channel?
the testing group receive Test builds, not Community builds
Different Build Types
bootloader is not relockable on this phone model, so no automatic factory-reset when changing branch
I created and issue for the wired audio since I also have the same issue [tetris] USB-C wired audio either donāt work or sound crackling (#8488) Ā· Issues Ā· e / Backlog Ā· GitLab
I was also waiting for the official version of e/os. Iāve already installed Android 15, without even thinking that I wonāt be able to install e/os. Itās a real shame. But itās also a shame that the team is so late. On Murena, it says: āCan be pre-ordered - Delivery in Januaryā. But itās the 28thā¦ So now Iām stuck with a google phone that Iāll probably sell!
Itās so tempting to just go ahead and act - without thinking about it for long. It is so much easier to follow oneās own inner impulses instead of doing some research before a planned action. Thoughtless action is never without consequences.
In order to install /e/OS-U commuinuty (A14) on the CMF Phone 1 with firmware Nothing OS 3.0 (Android 15), a downgrade to firmware Nothing OS 2.6 (14) is necessary.
The official version is often overrated compared to the community version. Where has it been officially stated that there will ever be an official āstableā /e/OS-U version for the general public? It is quite conceivable that this is reserved for a Murena Premium (shop) device for sales tactical reasons.
A new CMF Phone 1 by Nothing is not supplied by the manufacturer with firmware Nothing OS 3.0 (Android 15) but with Android 14. By upgrading to NOS 3.0 (A15), you yourself have turned the CMF 1 into a Ā«google phoneĀ». That was your sole mistake and is not /e/'s fault!
Sorry, I didnāt know that the official versions of e/os were reserved for payphones. And yes itās my fault for installing the Android 15 update, after waiting for an official version of e/os, which obviously isnāt open to all users, and is taking far too long to be deployed.
e-2.7-u community-tetris was released with only a few days difference to e-2.7-u official-tetris. The special thing this time is: e-2.7-u community-tetris was released later than e-2.7-u official-tetris! The rule until now was: first the community version, then 8-14 days later the official version.
CMF Phone 1 downgrade Nothing OS 3.0 (A15) to Nothing OS 2.6 (A14) is possible. Instructions can be found on the WWW.
