It did not for me (OnePlus 8 Pro)
On install page, Android 13 (T) dev version appeared for OP7T (hotdogb). Has anyone tried it yet?
OK, I installed it as OP7T is my backup phone.
Good news is it works!
As I had newest Lineage OS (LOS) for MicroG - based on Android 13 - on the device, this is how I did the install (keep in mind this is not a guide, just my experience):
starting point: lineage os (Android 13) + MicroG
LOS recovery: factory reset
LOS recovery: install update, adb sideload “e-1.15-t-20230917331436-dev-hotdogb.zip”
rebooted in fresh LOS!!! - NO SUCCESS
fastboot again
fastboot flash recovery “recovery-e-1.14-s-20230819321663-dev-hotdogb.img”
recovery mode
e/os recovery: install update
e/os recovery: adb sideload e-1.15-t-20230917331436-dev-hotdogb.zip
reboot
e/os recovery warning during boot: cannot boot android system maybe factory reset is needed (or something like this )
doing factory reset when prompted
successfully booted into e/os android 13
So probably there is no need to do it from LOS recovery, a least it did not work for me.
Also, there is no e/OS recovery for Android T yet, so I could not use that.
No experiences with new rom yet, but touch screen is working and also fingerprint unock is way more reliable than it was on e/os android 11.
Thanks!
I now have succesfully upgraded my Oneplus 7T pro with “Not touch display” and Android 11 (R) to Android 13 (T) with:
e-1.16-t-20231018342574-dev-hotdog.zip [MD5 | SHA256]
recovery-e-1.16-t-20231018342574-dev-hotdog.img [SHA256]
To get into fastboot, I pressed the Power where you get the choice to Power Off, Restart etc. But as the Touchscreen is not working, hold Volume Up + Volume Down + Power for about 10 seconds, after which the phone could be powered off.
Then I could manually update by:
- Run
adb reboot sideload
. - Run
adb sideload /<path to>/e-1.16-t-20231018342574-dev-hotdog.zip
(inserting the path to your /e/OS package). Reboot system now
.
I want to update my oneplus 7T also but I’m wondering if you lose your data in the process?
This is a bit off-topic. But when you do the manual update (adb sideload) as instructed, and all goes well, all your apps are still there.
Nevertheless, always backup…!
I just updated my OnePlus 7T from 1.12.3-r to 1.18-r (stable-hotdogb), and TouchScreen AND fingerprint reader are working fine !
