OnePlus North: Reboot after flashing custom recovery ended up in fastboot mode

Hi,

I tried to install e/OS on a OnePlus North (Modell AC2003) after updating it to Android 12. For installation LINUX was used, except for reanimation of the phone (msndownloadtool on WINDOWS).

The first try via easy installer ended up with a bricked phone after flashing the custom recovery image (Problems to install e/OS with easy installer on OnePlus Nord). To solve the problem I reanimated the phone with the msndownloadtool and installing the original ROM.

I tried a second time following the community install doc. After flashing the custom recovery image via fastboot I tried to reboot into recovery. Device powered off and then holding Volume Down + Power ended up in fastboot mode. In the fastboot mode it was possible to select START, Recovery mode, Restart bootloader, Show barcode, Power off. But choosing Recovery mode ended up in the fastboot mode. After reanimating the phone by installing the original ROM I tried a different version. At least I tried 2.3, 2.2, 2.1. It ended up all in the same state - not possible to get the phone into recovery mode.

What is the problem ? Where is my mistake ? How can I finish the installation of e/OS ?

During installation I recognized that the phone has two slots (fastboot getvars all). The installation was done on slot a. What’s with slot b ?

Any help is extremely appreciated !

Thnx in advance !

Just for information - finally I solved it by myself.

It was not possible to install any official version on my OnePlus North. But installing a Community Version worked on my One Plus North. I guess the problem is the recovery image of the official version. It was not possible to reboot into recovery mode. With the Community Version it was possible.
Now community version 2.4 is installed and updated to 2.5 on the One Plus North.
