apperantly /e/OS only has 15 volume control steps (my Gigaset GS290 has only 9 !!!), which is absolutely not ok for me. Especially at Bluetooth with an external speaker the volume setting is mostly too loud or too quiet. A more precise volume adjustment is missing.
Now my question: Which volume app can create a higher number (50 or 100) and smaller volume control steps?
According to App Lounge, “Precise Volume 2.0” is absolutely terrible in terms of data protection (0/10 points).
“Fine Volume Control 2.1.5” is too old and doesn’t work on newer Android (it crashes immediately at my device).
“Sound Assistant” only works on Samsung smartphones.
I have been having the same problem for years, even before switching to e/OS. My way to do it: use an equalizer, and reduce all the frequencies by 7dB (or 15dB), thus “reducing” the size of the increments. I used Bass Boost, which is not good in terms of privacy, and I am currently testing SpotEQ31 and Wavelet. Two drawbacks, though:
when I launch each of those programs, I might have to re-set the controls to -7dB (not a big problem, because I do not power off my phone that often)
when switching from “with Equalizer” to “without”, the sound becomes loud, so better reduce the volume before switching the equalizer Off.
