Only 15 (or 9 at Gigaset) volume control steps - App for smoother volume control with more (and smaller) steps?

Hello everyone,

apperantly /e/OS only has 15 volume control steps (my Gigaset GS290 has only 9 !!!), which is absolutely not ok for me. Especially at Bluetooth with an external speaker the volume setting is mostly too loud or too quiet. A more precise volume adjustment is missing.
Now my question: Which volume app can create a higher number (50 or 100) and smaller volume control steps?

According to App Lounge, “Precise Volume 2.0” is absolutely terrible in terms of data protection (0/10 points).
“Fine Volume Control 2.1.5” is too old and doesn’t work on newer Android (it crashes immediately at my device).
“Sound Assistant” only works on Samsung smartphones.

Do you have any other ideas?

Hello wusel,
i do the precise volume adjustment (if needed) at the external speaker a rapoo A600, using the + and - keys.
It fits my needs.

Hello Wusel,

I have been having the same problem for years, even before switching to e/OS. My way to do it: use an equalizer, and reduce all the frequencies by 7dB (or 15dB), thus “reducing” the size of the increments. I used Bass Boost, which is not good in terms of privacy, and I am currently testing SpotEQ31 and Wavelet. Two drawbacks, though:

  • when I launch each of those programs, I might have to re-set the controls to -7dB (not a big problem, because I do not power off my phone that often)
  • when switching from “with Equalizer” to “without”, the sound becomes loud, so better reduce the volume before switching the equalizer Off.

Sincerely,

Christophe
