Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.ecloud.global failed

Have been trying to send emails all day; keep getting this message

Sending of the message failed.
The message could not be sent because connecting to Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.ecloud.global failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again.

I can send but not receive,

Email worked last night and I have not changed anything with my email program.

Thanks

Paul

the smtp is reachable and takes mails.. did you change anything network-y recently?

have not change anything. To test instead of using Thunderbird my normal mail program I installed evolution mail set up the mail account in it. It down loaded the emails in my murenia account, but it also will not sent an email. I assume the settings are correct.

I think I found the cause; but why is above my pay grade. I had my VPN turned on when I tried to send the emails from my Murena account. If I turn the VPN off emails can be sent. This has never happened to me before. I do not know if it was because the VPN was always off while sending Mail from the murena account or not. However I can send mail using Gmail and Eastlink mail service with the VPN turned on or off..

Not sure if this is a bug in Murena email sysyem or an unknown feature.

Live and learn

Thanks

Paul

what vpn provider? fair to ask murena if there’s any vpn blocks on mail.ecloud.global. Not that likely given in-built Tor is a feature.

dns or faulty network settings can play a part too

The provider is Trust.Zone
