As for CDMA … it seems dead from 4G on and will be phased out? Why would Fairphone want to bother now? Fairphones work on globally widely spread standard networks, it’s mostly just a question of choosing the right network provider.

As to attempts on alternative/FOSS tablets the history is a long and mostly unsuccessful one so far.
