Persistent Issue with App Lounge – Request for Resolution

Hi,

For over a month, I’ve been encountering the following error message:

“Account unavailable. The anonymous account you are currently using is unavailable. Please refresh the session to get another one.”

This issue has resulted in:

  • No updates: App lounge displays 0 updates available.
  • Broken functionality: Not a single app can be installed, and existing apps are deteriorating day by day without updates.

Please do not suggest clearing the app cache or restarting the phone, as these steps have not resolved the issue. I request a permanent fix for this problem.

Here are my device details:

  • Device: Fairphone 5.0
  • App Lounge version: 2.10.1
  • E/OS version: 2.5-t-2024

Additionally, a question for the community: Since App Lounge is unreliable, what alternatives do you recommend besides F-Droid? For instance, has anyone tried APKPure, and what’s your experience with it?

Thank you,

Try the Aurora Store, seems to be working. I know google did something to mess up the stores…

Aurora Stores works fine indeed, but maybe you should try this : within the App Lounge, choose to ignore the error message, then go to the Parameters tab, then click disconnect.
It should take you to the connection page where you should be able to connect again using anonymous mode, which resets the connection and usually does the trick (at least for me !)
See image below.
Hope this helps !

Please see also App Lounge FAQ

Thank you for your responses. I had already tried the solutions you recommended, including reviewing the FAQ section and disconnecting, logging out, and reconnecting.

I installed the Aurora Store, and it is working well. I will be using Aurora Store moving forward.

Just be careful when using Aurora not to update any system apps

Hi mihi,
why is that?
I am thinking of using Aurora store, as I have been having the same problems with the APP Lounge for about 6 weeks now.

The best way to avoid doing this is to blacklist any system app.

To do this, go to the update tab, long press the app, and choose “blacklist”.
This can also be done from the three-dots menu on the app page.

Blacklisting will hide any update for the app, and prevent auto updates.
This is reversible.

Cause alot of posts on the Forum say it :wink: It is just to avoid problems. Since you are not using official e/OS/ store

@jabsu Explained how to do it

For me, App Lounge works only over TOR Network, Without launching TOR i have only Access to Open Source Applications.
