Phone app "keeps stopping": Essential PH-1 (mata) e-0.14-q

Does anyone know what could be causing this? The phone app keeps stopping. Sometimes it crashes immediately, sometimes connects in a call. Dialogue box pops on screen but cannot close the app. Cannot close app by pressing recents and swiping. Toggle airplane mode ends the call then close app normally.

I noticed this problem on two Sony Xperia XA2’s also, running unofficialGSI and unofficial eOS, both Q version 0.14.

Simple dialer works ok.

I too am having this issue, but on a different phone. The phone I use is a Motorola Moto G7. Any ideas as to what to do to troubleshoot would be appreciated!

There is a bug report for this issue and someone with a G7+ has the problem too.
