Phone calls sometimes sound like electronic chipmonks (Essential phone / mata)

Greetings all,

My first post! I have been using an Essential PH-1 with the /e / ROM for a while and love it. Sadly, sometimes I cannot make or receive phone calls. It rings normally, but all I hear is electronic tones instead of words. Never does the person on the other end of the call hear this, only me. It can happen both when I call and receive a call. It happens sometimes then returns to normal.

I have tried turning on / off wifi calling, volt, etc. Doesn’t seem to make any difference.

Any ideas? I would love to use this as my daily driver but if I can’t trust phone calls I’ll have to go back to my pixel.

Because I don’t use my phones as phones I don’t think I’ve ever made or received a call on my Essential before. When I get the chance I’ll test calls and see if I have the same issue. Stay tuned. :slight_smile:
