Phone wants to update Google Play Services

My phone wants to update Google Play Services, but I cannot see that it is installed.

I thought Micro-G handled Google Play Services.

I read this thread, which suggests I should not update Google Play services, and in fact blacklist it … is that still correct ??

Has Google Play Services some how found its way onto my phone at one time, when in fact it should not be, if in fact it is there … somewhere ?

Thanks

Is your phone telling you it is there? Does in appear as an app, say when you look in Settings > Apps … (perhaps also check show system ??)

Or is it effectively Aurora store telling you that it wants to update it? (In which case, Aurora store is fooled into believing microG is Google Play services.)

Or else how do you know it is there?

You must be looking in the Aurora store and seeing that update, am I correct? If so don’t do the update. You can blacklist that update in the store.
