Pixel 4a / sunfish (not 5G) - "downgrade" from GrapheneOS to /e/ R stable

Hi,

I have a Pixel 4a with GrapheneOS (Android 13) installed, but now that /e/ R stable (1.16) is available, I’d like to “downgrade” to it. I was wondering if someone would point out what are the appropriate steps to do so without too much roadblocks.

I’m a Linux user and usually do all my ROM stuff from the terminal, so you could give me the rough requirements to accomplish that or specific steps if required.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @gentooftw welcome to the /e/ forum.

(I think you are aware, there are different build types available for sunfish, so if you take the dev path you will not have to downgrade.

Stable: https://images.ecloud.global/stable/sunfish/
Dev: https://images.ecloud.global/dev/sunfish/)

For downgrade, there is this online Google tool, https://flash.android.com/welcome. For terminal use you might prefer to use https://developers.google.com/android/images – quite a bit of reading and warnings here, you need to Acknowledge then you can search for https://developers.google.com/android/images#sunfish. Also available https://github.com/CalyxOS/device-flasher.

Good luck
