I just tried to install eos on a Google Pixel 5 with easy installer, everithing went fine until the easy installer prompted me to lock the device on the fastboot menu. I did it, and then it got stuck.
At sart is says : “Can’t find valid poerating system. The device will not start.”
Trying to get into recovery mode gives the same result. I’m getting really worried that the device is now bricked…
The device was previously running the latest version of android 12, as asked by the easy installer.
I tried to access it with fastboot command, but it is not found by my computer (stuck at )
I hope there is a fix for that.
Thanks for your help.
I finally got back to the command line instructions. Found on a forum that fastboot on windows sometine requires admin. Then, in a admin shell, I could unlock the device, and access e/os recovery partition.
I retried installing with “factory reset”, flashing the device. And doing it manually, it worked flawlessly.
I wonder if there is a problem in the easy installer to flash the key?
Anyway, the phone is working now, i’m happy to be back on e/os!
Sounds like you had OS mismatch. Easy Installer was probably trying to install android 12 and your phone was on android 13, or similar situation.
Easy installer should detect the mismatch but it doesn’t as far as I can tell.
I have always just used command line. Not that hard after you have done it a few times. I like to copy my commands into a text editor like notepad (windows) first so I can just paste them into the command windows.
