Pixel 6a battery overheating, and Google workaround software update

Google announced that a compulsory software update would be deployed on Pixel 6a devices:

This update includes a workaround for a battery overheating issue.

From what I read in the link above, this would be tied to an Android 16 upgrade.

How will /e/OS handle that topic? Will this be included in a future /e/OS version? Maybe at the same time as the upgrade to Android 16? (which is not even planned for now)

Maybe start planning for an A16 update. As soon as we release the A15 which should be very soon.

OK thanks.
So you mean that this software overheating workaround will reach /e/OS users at the same time as the A16 upgrade?

An /e/OS A16 build will take a couple of months. We have to plan for it, allocate resources who will then make the code modifications, test and debug…it will take a few months.

I understand @Manoj
And I was not complaining

Did you check if your device is one of the impacted devices?

I wanted to, but the support page starts by asking for a Google account… And I don’t have the Google account initially used on this phone.
