Pixel 7 and e/OS 2.8-t installation

Hello,

Yesterday I downgraded my Pixel 7 from Android 15 to Android 14 (I read next advice in the installation guide: " Before following these instructions please ensure that the device is on the latest Android 14 firmware").
After that, I installed e/OS using the web installer. Everything was ok and my phone works properly, but later I noticed that e/OS 2.8-t is based on Android 13. Can I have some kind of problem by not downgrading to Android 13 before installing?

Thanks!

Hi there,
not sure I can answer your request, but could you please explain how to downgrade, I tied to install it on android 15, and all I obtaine was a total reset of pixel 7, all data deleted.
many thanks and good luck

If Web Installer did not warn you either

  • it is ok
  • it was an oversight.

The /e/ ROM for Android 13 (T) does include vendor firmware and is usually capable of Android version upgrade if accompanied with Format data. Please report if you find any issues but I expect it will be ok.

Please use this link to check out downgrade methods.

Please note that the install page includes a note on Android version.

Hi There,

do you know if I have to downgrade first to 14 then to 13, or is it ok to downgrade from 15 to 13 before the EOS intall? (pixel panther)
and thanks so much for your advises, they are very valuable
kind rgds

Hi @6ou

The google page linked does not include any mention downgrade “in stages”.

The install page Install /e/OS on a Google Pixel 7 - “panther” mentions that AOSP 13 (T) and a14 (U) are both available. Web Installer will install A 13 (T) official.

It is easier to get support with CLI manual install if you always keep notes of your terminal output to share and demonstrate where you have got to. No logs are currently available to share when one uses Web Installer .
