Pixel 7 Fail to use Installer

Hello there,

I finished my preparation and i am on the way to install /e/os. Using the installer i am not ableto get past step 10/20.

Error on step: connect-bootloader

Cannot execute command connect bootloader
The device is not connected Failed to connect: Cannot connect Bootloader
Proposal: Check connection and that no other program is using the phone and retry.

Hello @smarti, Welcome to the /e/ users forum.

Android 15 based GogolOS is required to install /e/OS, and i am afraid downgrade is no-more possible on Pixel phones since May 2025 version..

So i will not be able to install the /e/os Sytem with my current device?
What is the second best option security and ‘de-googling’ wise?

I already use the Murena Workspace.
On my device i use DAVx5, ICSx5, Nextcloud and Thunderbird for Calenders, Contacts, Mails and Files. I use Vivaldi as Browser and Etar for as my calender.
In my opinion Here wego is a good replacement for Google Maps.

Will i be able to install Installation ¡ microg/GmsCore Wiki ¡ GitHub on my device to go even a step further?

You can keep up to date with /e/ development.

a16 has been built unofficially unofficial-builds already, but I think no word yet officially development-updates when it will be rolled out .
