Pixel 8 to A16?

[ShaneS]

Is there going to be an official build to update the Pixel 8 from A15 to A16 or A17? If so, general eta? Or would I have to do a community build to get it?

@ShaneS

would I have to do a community build to get it?

not needed to build community by yourself, It is available on the /e/ website…

Thanks, but not quite what I was trying to ask. Not that I have to build it, but is the community build going to be the only way to get to A16 on Pixel 8, or are there plans for the Official build to transition to A16+ for pixel 8?

Plans yes, but no timeline:

To Be Planned

This is the consolidated list of all devices that have an official build. The plan is to upgrade all of them to the latest possible build. This may not be feasible for every device, as some are too old and have already reached EOL from the vendor and may not work on the latest OS versions. Devices marked “No updates” fall into this category.
