[PLEASE READ OTA] Moving to 0.5, changes, need to re-enable eDrive

We have changed several package names so that they will now follow a consistent naming (foundation.e.app_name).

Also we are changing/adding new default apps (icon still to be removed from launcher), such as OpenKeyChain and LibreOfficeViewer.

We’re introducing QKSMS as default SMS app (Signal still here for now, so that earlier SMS are still accessible).

Additionnally, we are moving to a new release naming that will follow the following scheme:

version_number-{o|n}-datebuild_number-device

Example: 0.5-o-201902063108-dev-dumpling.zip

Starting from today, new builds and OTA updates will follow this scheme.

Once you apply to such an OTA update, you will notice that /e/ account (eDrive) doesn’t work anymore.

Please do the following to make eDrive work again:

  1. Reset eDrive data
  • nougat: Settings > Apps > 3 dots button > button > Show system > /e/ Drive > Storage > tap on Clear data and Clear cache
  • oreo: Settings > Apps and notification > Show all > 3 dots button > Show system > /e/ Drive > Storage > tap on Clear data and Clear cache
  1. Log again to you /e/ account
  • nougat: Settings > Accounts > Add account > /e/
  • oreo: Settings > Users & accounts > Add account > /e/
