POCO M5s (rosemary) Instructions: Is Android 11 Correct?

The installation instructions for the POCO M5s (rosemary) state that Android 11 is required as the starting point. I think that’s an error because the phone was released with Android 12. Also, I am on Android 13 now (MIUI 14.0.17). Can I install /e/OS over MIUI 14.0.17?

I also have a Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 that was previously running LineageOS 20. Even though the /e/OS installation instructions for XRN9 state that Android 11 is a prerequisite, I had no problems installing /e/OS on top of Android 13.

Did you find a workaround for this? I can’t see the indication fro an Android 11 firmware right now. Nevertheless, coming from MIUI 14, Android 13, the current builds (e 2.7) lead to a hardbrick of the phone.

Nope. If you can get into Fastboot, install unofficial TWRP and flash the latest factory image.

Oh, don’t worry about the hardbrick, I mostly know my way out from it, using BROM mode, MTKclient and SP Flash Tool. But yeah, if you try to flash a factory firmware via fastboot, the phone remains bricked, it is not an easy way out from it. Anyway, thank you very much for replying. What I wish, though, is to use /e/ OS in my Poco M5s.
