Problems sending photos in message 3.10.1

Hi,
When I take a photo of a document with message the quality is terrible and it is unreadable.
When I take a photo using the camera directly the document is clear but when I send it with message it becomes unreadable.
I assume the application is reducing the quality of the image to make it smaller. How do I stop that from happening? I can not find a setting for this in the message application.

Test whether the issue also occurs with an alternative message app from F-Droid Store:
Fossify SMS Messenger
Open-source and Ad-free SMS/MMS messaging app

Could be the settings of mms. You can set the picture size somewhere. On the Forum someone else had similar problem.

Within Messages > top left 3 bar menu > Settings > Auto-compress MMS attachments.

But you may find you don’t have many options when you try higher resolutions, I guess it will depend on the level of auto compression used currently.

I will give it a go later tonight. It had crossed my mind but I was hoping I could keep it vanilla and just change a setting. thanks.

Thanks but I tried that before starting the thread. it did not affect what it did to the images.

I first tried qksms but the same reduction in quality happened regardless of the settings I tried.
Fossify SMS Messenger seems to work though. It would be nice to know why, specifically, that is.
