Problems with using 5G/4G/3G in foreing countries

Hi,

As I live near the dutch-belgian border (at the dutch side).
I am often in a foreign country (belgium).
But I am not able to use 5G/4G/3G in belgium.
I have a Fairphone 5 and installed /e/os myself.
I have tried different options in settings in Internet > SIMs
such as turning off Automatically select network.
But often it says “Couldn’t find networks. Try again.”
Sometimes, it gives me options, but none of the options allow me to connect with 5G/4G/3G.
I would appriciate if people have suggestions what I can do to have internet in Belgium.

You are asking about a problem with a roaming networtk, correct?

Yeah I am having a problem with roaming network

Have you ever tried to pick one manually?

My experience is also that the “Auto” option was not really good.

As I described in my post I have tried to turn off Automatically select network, but no networks shows up. Is that what you meant or do you talking about something else?

Sorry I missed that.

What device do you have? Does it support VoLTE? But that shouldn’t be a problem with connecting to the network of a provider.

I have a fairphone 5.
I am not sure what you mean with VoLTE.
If I click on Preferred network type it shows 3G. 4G and 5G.
Is that what you meant?

I see, you have a pretty new device, then that shouldn’t be an issue.

Did you buy it from Murena?

I can’t think of any solution right now.

No I bought it from fairphone themselves and installed /e/os myself.

I have the same problem with my FP5 bought from Murena.
It is a know bug.
For me the workaround described here worked: Feedback for v2.8 - #53 by Cabnedor

Thank you, that sucks to hear.
Is there any plan on fixing this?

If someone opened an ‘issue’ on gitlab, then the chances are higher than without

Is it filed as Report an issue ?

Yes, you can find it in gitlab as a bug for FP5. Reported about 4 month ago.
