QR code not available at first setup

Hello,

While starting e-os for the first time on a Fairphone 3, I should have QR Code reader available by taping the screen a few times on the language selection screen, but I don’t.
QR Code reader is needed while registering a phone with corporate settings from my company.

QR Code reader is available on other Android/Google devices.

Any chance to get this feature availale?

Thank you

It is available on the Camera app, but slightly hidden. You need to change first to Video mode then the QR icon is visible.

…or you can add it to the pull down menu.

Let me try to rephrase.

When you start /e/os for the first time, it displays the “Welcome to /e/os” screen, you need to press start to initiate the setup process.

On the second screen, it asks for the language. On that screen, you should be able to click a few times on the screen to get the camera on to scan a QR Code provided by your company to enroll the device in inTune (or any other MDM app that your company uses).

With /e/OS/ this feature of “few clicks on the screen” seems to be disabled.

last I checked this isn’t built into the /e/OS / Lineage first time setup wizard. Not sure in what package it resides in stockrom Google Android, probably Google Play itself - https://help.esper.io/hc/en-us/articles/12592452200721-6-tap-QR-Code-Provisioning … generally unsure though, it should be an AOSP component, just isn’t offered through UI? Murena MDM itself relies on device profile management.

Thanks @tcecyk for you answer.
I asked my company’s IT support to provide an alternative way for enrollment in MDM.
