I don’t think e/OS has this functionality, at least I use Binary Eye, there are several apps for this.
SecScanQR (from F-Droid).
Using /e/ native camera application
You can switch between

Argh … it’s on the video button - great GUI! To scan a QR code you must first tap on the video camera, absolute professionals here at work.
And I find it very practical. Integrated in the foto video app.
On FP6, there is a parameter Code QR (in French) in the native Fairphone App. If toggled on, automatic QR code recognition is in photo mode.
To eOSPC92:
I have FP6, but must admit I don’t understand what “parameter Code QR” is. And where do I find “native Fairphone App”?
Yep. I also saw the same thing. I had to manually move QR Code scanner into the status bar by editing it… so it’s a long way for new users and so familiar users to find the QR Code scanner!
The native Fairphone camera “com.fp.camera” supports QR Code scanning out of the box (and is available to enable on /e/OS with a toggle. But I tried the E-foundation camera app and it did not support QR Code scanning, unless I missed an option somewhere?
@Salve with a FP6 you can use the /e/OS/ regular camera App (fondation.e.camera) compatible with all /e/OS/ devices or the native Fairphone App (com.fps.camera) provided with FP6 AndroĂŻd stock.
This application may be better optimized for the FP6 hardware than the /e/OS regular one.
You can choose to enable /e/OS/ regular camera in Parameters \ Apps \ /e/OS Camera
However, as far as I know, the toggle to activate QR Code automatic recognition is only in the parameters of the native Fairphone camera App.
OK, thank you! This helps …
“Parameters” translated to Norwegian means “Inntillinger”. I did not know that! So I found the /e/OS Camera option.
But searching for “Fairphone App” in App Lounge only gives me Fairbuds and a list of other things that seems unrelated.
Oh, yes, that’s true, I even have this activated in the drop down menu, but have forgotten about it since I seldom/never use it.
@Salve You don’t have to install any extra application in a FP6. You should be able to locate an application Camera (in English) with the icon below.
Launch it and click on the wheel in the top right of the screen to display application settings

Then, click on the wheel highlighted in orange.
Scroll down until you locate the QR code toggle and set it on.
I wasn’t familiar with the QR scanner in our /e/ OS. I used it a few times while I was on vacation, but its efficiency left a lot to be desired on my official Pixel 7. Binary Eye, on the other hand, scans very quickly and also keeps a history
Interesting… This QR icon, I always thought this was a faulty icon displaying on my phone…
Ya major difficulty. /s It’s edited like any android phone, do you have a better way?
I second Binary Eye from F-Droid working /e/ 4.1.1 A15 just fine on a Pixel 6a
