Quick settings menu on lock screen and safety

Hello everyone,

Since last week I have a Pixel 8 with /e/OS. I found out that when de screen is locked you can still turn on Wifi en Mobile Internet. I also have a phone with Graphene OS. In Graphene it is not possible to change those settings only if I put in my password.

Is there in /e/OS a setting so that I can only turn Wifi and Mobile Internet on when I first give the password?

Is it possible for the developers of /e/OS to build this option in?

Thank you for your reply.

How are you turning it on and off with the screen locked? Can you explain the steps you take to do this?

Or to turn it on after entering ht PW, just swipe down and enable the network tile, you may have to edit the tiles to have the ones you want near the top.

Hello Jets,

When the screen is locked I swipe down then you find the quick settings menu there you can turn on wifi and mobile internet.

When the phone is unlocked it works the same way.

What I like to see is that when de phone is locked you cannot switch wifi or mobile internet on or off without the password.

See below which menu I talk about.

I’m not 100% sure this is it but try:

In Setting go to: Security and Privacy >More security and privacy > Notification on lock screen check> Don’t show notifications at all.

Hello Jets,

Thanks for the suggestion. But this option does not work for what I am aiming for. This setting is about notification and not the quick settings menu.

But thank you for trying.

It does block the quick setting and requires a password to get to them.

I tried the settings you said. It says to me to see wifi network I need to log in. Mobile internet I still can turn it on with a locked screen.

I see what you are talking about, does not work.

I am pretty sure this is an underlying Android function. Graphene is a locked down mobile OS, this is not I think the intention of eOS. I think I read somewhere a third party app can do this.

This might do it, have not tried myself:

This issue comes up every once in a while and it seems to not be a specific eOS- but an android- issue afaik
Here it is worked around via an automation-app

Jets and Obacht,

Thank you for your solutions. I will try them.

I also found more topics about this subject indeed but no solution and my German isn’t very good that is probably why I didn’t find the German topic about it.

Thanks again I will try it and will respond if it works for me.
